The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) explains that ‘being outdoors has a positive impact on children’s sense of well-being and helps all aspects of children’s development’
Our 1 acre natural garden is an engaging learning environment providing the children with freedom and space.
It allows opportunities for big scale play, problem solving and creativity. The children can use all their senses to appreciate the colours, different noises and an awareness of space and scale. The children are able to explore the natural world and use their imagination. It enhances physical activity enabling them to take risks in a safe and secure environment.
Whilst playing in the outdoor space, a child’s language is five times greater than indoors – supporting our communication projects developed alongside ECAT and Ican initiatives.
